Debt Management
The Benefits of a Debt Management Plan:
You make payments that you are able to comfortably afford.
You do not have to deal with creditors (lenders) any more.
All contact with creditors is dealt with by the Debt Management Company
Demands for Payments stop.
Any change in your circumstances can be used to adjust payments.
How a Debt Management Plan is commenced:
A statement of income and expenditure is carried out by an adviser.
A single affordable monthly payment is agreed making sure you have enough money for your living expenses.
The adviser negotiates with your creditors to accept reduced monthly payments and to freeze the interest.
An agreement is reached with the creditors, at this point it is not necessary for you to have any further dealings with the creditors and all demands for payments will stop.
You make one monthly payment, this is then distributed amongst the creditors.
Benefits for the Creditors:
Debt Management plans make a sensible option to the creditors, once the statement of income and expenditure is presented to them it is obvious that the full payments cannot be made.
The creditors avoid the cost of taking you to court or paying fees to debt collection agencies.
Bankruptcy is expensive takes a long time and the creditors could end up with very little or nothing when completed.
